How did you discover your passion for perfume? When did you know you wanted to make it your profession?

I’ve always been sensitive to the perfumes around me since I was very young.
It was during a position in cosmetology at Dragoco that I discovered the profession of perfume creation.

What drives you most in the creative process? What are your sources of inspiration and favorite raw materials?

What drives me is the emotion that emerges when I discover an original and pleasant accord, the creativity itself.
When an idea for a new accord comes to mind, it becomes a real source of inspiration that I first write down on paper and then translate into a formula.

My favorite raw materials are rose, jasmine, fruity citrus notes, and green notes.
I also love vanilla, heliotropin, tonka bean, and musks.

How do you know when a perfume is finished?

When the emotions it evokes with the very first spray continue to surprise me the next day, through its trail and base notes.

What attracted you to the brand’s approach?

What appealed to me in the brand’s approach is the olfactory sensitivity I share with Sylvaine Delacourte. We are always on the same wavelength.

What particular challenge did you face while working on Vahina?

Working with orange blossom as a nectar, with its intoxicating and enveloping scent, just as it is experienced in nature.

What emotion would you like people to feel when discovering Vahina?

I would like people to feel as if they were walking under an orange tree in full bloom.

Do you have a memorable scent from your childhood?

Several Guerlain perfumes worn by my mother.
The smell of jasmine, rose, and honeysuckle in summer, in the streets of Damascus.

Lastly, what are your passions outside of perfume?

Music in all its forms, classical, jazz, or pop.
Traveling in nature and discovering different civilizations.
