Meet Randa Hammami

How did you discover your passion for perfume? At what moment did you know you wanted to make it your career?

Since I was very young, I have always been sensitive to the perfumes that surrounded me.
It was during a position in cosmetology at Dragoco that I discovered the profession of perfumer-creator.

What drives you the most in creation? What are your sources of inspiration and your favorite raw materials?

What drives me are the emotions that arise when I discover an original and pleasant accord; simply put, creativity.
When an idea for a new accord comes to mind, it becomes a true source of inspiration that I then translate onto paper, and then into a formula.

My favorite raw materials are rose, jasmine, fruity citrus, and green notes.
I also love vanilla, heliotropin, tonka bean, and musks.

How do you know when a perfume is complete?

When the emotions it provides from the very first "spritz" continue to surprise me the next day, with its sillage and base notes.

What appealed to you in the brand's approach?

What appealed to me in the brand's approach is the olfactory sensitivity that I share with Sylvaine Delacourte. We are always on the same wavelength.

What particular challenge did you take on while working on Vahina?

Working orange blossom like a nectar, with its intoxicating and enveloping scents, just as one experiences them in nature.

What emotion would you like people to feel when discovering Vahina?

I would like people to feel as though they are walking under an orange tree in full bloom.

Do you have a striking olfactory memory from your childhood?

Several Guerlain perfumes that my mother wore.
The scent of jasmine, rose, and honeysuckle in the summer, in the streets of Damascus.

Finally, what are your passions outside of perfume?

Music in all its forms: classical, jazz, or pop.
Traveling in nature and discovering civilizations.
