Meet Irène Farmachidi

How did you discover your passion for perfume? When did you know you wanted to make it your profession?

From the moment I started wearing it. The day I realized there was a perfumer behind every bottle, it became obvious to me.

What drives you most in the creative process?

Finding new accords.

What are your sources of inspiration and your favorite raw materials?

Inspiration can come from a pleasant smell I encounter in daily life, but more often, it comes from mentally combining different scent ideas.
I enjoy a wide range of smells.

It often depends on the season. When it’s hot, I prefer citrus notes. In winter, I lean towards amber, woody, or musky notes.

How do you know when a perfume is finished?

When it matches exactly the idea I had before formulating it, when the olfactory notes unfold harmoniously over time, and when it diffuses well.

What attracted you to the brand’s approach?

The brand’s founder, with whom I share a common olfactory sensitivity.

What particular challenge did you face while working on Florentina and Osiris?

Florentina is above all a musky scent. But musks, as delightful as they are, tend to soften diffusion while enhancing longevity.
The challenge was to make Florentina a real diffusion bomb.

For Osiris, it was about working around a honeyed and floral note, without any waxy, sugary, or overly gourmand aspects. It had to be delicious, elegant, and sunlit.

What emotion would you like people to feel when discovering Florentina and Osiris?

Pleasure in wearing them, and a genuine feeling of well-being.

Do you have a memorable scent from your childhood?

Not one in particular, but many. The perfumes worn by my family, the fireplace, the plants in my parents’ large garden, and the smells of the forest where we used to walk every Sunday.

Lastly, what are your passions outside of perfume?

Travel, especially Greece, music, and classical dance.
